Selfcare is not an expense  –  it is the investment

On the beginning of the November I desired to take time to just be by myself, taking all the the that I need to recharge myself after being through one of the most hectic periods with traveling, moving and readjusting my life with all the changes.

And now as there was a safe place and corner just for myself, I felt the heavy need to just step back physically from social circles and really reroot myself. Letting myself settle with time and giving myself the permission also to really enjoy this start of the new chapter I just entered.

Not gonna lie, after hectic time period with many blot twist on and in the way, taking time just to myself has not felt this necessary for a while. And I decided to take as long as I needed, and just for myself. Tuning in with myself and really scanning how it is going, overall but also by paying attention to the little details – inside and out.

When you shut down the extra noises around you and really take the time to sit with yourself, with time and without hurry, you start to have more little but significant aha-moments. They may be from something that you experienced a while ago, but now that your mind really has the time and space to run through all the data collected and the things that you needed gain from that experience/situation, they more or less do hit you.

I even intentionally took time away from writing to this blog, even tho this has been also one way to process things as when I’m typing things down and really putting this down with time. But now, I needed more time offline and with the morning pages, writing without hurry and without any filters what so ever.

This was way more personal – in all aspects.  As I felt that first time in years, Im in space now that I can just be. Be, letting thoughts come and go, while rewinding myself. Taking things with ease, and with peace and ease on the mind.

Everything happens for a reason, and on their own time. I feel like as I entered to this new era, it was also an end of one marathon.

I have been so in hurry for so long time, both physically but also mentally, that it has been really refreshing to really give myself a permission to slow the F down. Sleep, if I feel like it. Walking on beach sand, letting my dog take its time to just be also. Being in no rush, and just going and doing what feels right or nice on that very moment, Write as long as my mind keeps to flow running and  if  I’m in the mood for it. Staying home without hurry or next task to tackle, after being on the road and on the go for so long time.

By the way, that has been easier to say than done, I noticed that. When something has become like your second nature, and you have been growing into that feel of rush and trying to accomplish as much as you can, it is not that easy to really allow yourself mentally to ease yourself down. But I decided to fully commit to this little process of mine, and slowly but steadily slowing a bit the speed.

They say that happiness is a inside job, but so is also your peace. Your balance. Normally I would go and travel, as in that way I have been previously taking the time to really get myself tuned into where I’m at now, but this time, it all felt different. This time I felt more like I need to stay where I am and let things just unfold, now and here.

Reloading  myself more now, as now is the perfect time also to do so. I have the time and space for decent self reflection, reboot, to really spot on the things where I should be pointing more intentional work and effort to grow and evolve even more. Also, now has been really good time too to really reflect on what this year has been serving, what lessons I have been receiving. And what did I learn. Which losses actually, eventually where gains. What new have I have been learning about  life but also about myself.

What are the things that do serve me, my goals and my dreams.
What would be the next steps, while still maintaining gratitude for what I have now.

With these thoughts, ready to step into to the year 2024.
