It’s easy to think that the more and faster we are doing things, multitasking, the more we are able to manage to do and the better the results, while actually, thats not might be the thing. Many of know this already, but how many of us really do follow this guideline ?
While I have been forced to slow down with problems with my health after having covid, it has been also been really good rehearsal for new kind of way to face occurring situations. When I used to have mentality ”more is more” and I tried my best to do as much things as I can as fast I can, I have been now slowing things down even more and really just focused on one thing at the time. Not that easy task to do after years of multitasking, but it has been more effective way to get things done for sure.
More is more way of thinking is also a big stress maker and familiar to the ones who tend to be a overperformers like I used to be. I wanted to be as effective as possible while not really understanding that you aren’t able to stay 100 percent focused while multitasking, for sure to multitask, but not to the actual tasks that you are trying to get done.

In away, this is the yoga training like situation for myself. Im not forcing myself anymore to do as much as I can as fast as I can, its more like I do what Im able to do and with time given, but doing it still so that Im giving it my full attention. It can be about preparing to travel or for the work tasks, its still about organizing and prioritizing. And surprisingly, I have had much better results while still being much more laid back.
I still could have the mentality of overachiever, but as we only have one body and the health of it, I have been prioritizing my health to be much more important than any task. If my work is not appreciated, I’m sitting in front table, and that is also a place where I’m not able to give my best while Im demanded to give even more than actually is needed. To have miserable life is easy, you just go with the flow what other say while forgot to follow our own gut feeling and dreams, but to really taking the charge of your own life and keeping the focus on it, even while making the baby steps towards your goals, well, there the magic happens.
Its not how fast or how far you can go once, its more about how persistence you are during the process. Also the more you focus on the tasks, the more you really learn while making the progress versus if you just ”run them through”.
Step by step, little by little.
