Empowering encounters

One of the best things on working as a customer servicer is the fact that you get to meet many people, with different background among different stories involved. You get to speak to people that you won’t be talking to in daily basis. And you also get the change to learn from others, from the stories that they tell, the different aspects that they will serve you.

And because this kind of connections are all about the interaction, you are also able to reflect onto your own story.

This mind game started by meeting a new customer, whom I didn’t know before hand and with  whom we just did connect. Conversations just flow, without extra effort made. We talked about our histories, the life that we have been lived so  far. We were on a same wave lenght, at the same time learning  from each others. Two women, from different decades. And thats the thing, because we were having the age, different life situations and yet sharing the same mind set. She made an impression to me that really made a difference, and she made me also go through a small memory line while sharing a bit of my own life experiences with her.

While going through our life experiences, we were strongly centering around one subject over others; encounters. How we are led of to meet up with others during our lives and how some connections are stronger than other. And how from every connection, you will gain something, either an experience, lesson or new aspects of a sight. And how some of the people you meet during your life time will be the ones to stay on your mind no matter how long has been from your encounter with them. Sometimes even a conversation with a stranger can led to bigger things and outcomes, opening your own point of view so much that you will cherish that moment over and over, even after longer period of a time. And I strongly believe on the point of view, that we don’t meet up this kind of people purely by accident.

And even after our little conversation, I were still on the loop of memory lane. When looking back, you really are able to reflect on where are you now, how long way you have already came through. And how every dot has been connected so you are where you are now, even the ones that didn’t make any sense at the time. For me, the past months have been all about the reflections of this kind. Reflection onto where I started, what I have been through and what situations have been leading me to the next stages. The most biggest struggles have been in the end the steps toward better outcomes. When writing my post ”some chapters  of your life don’t have titles until much later”, I didn’t  know then how much the title would be on point months later.

Lately I have  had the same kind of feelings that I have had so many times before years ago, but now especially I have found myself to going  back to certain time period of my life. To the time before I decided to aim to go abroad.  At then, I did make the biggest choices of change while Reflecting, struggling, getting those a-ha-moments. But also, considering, did I really do the right decisions then and in the time between then and now.  And while letting that thought process go through, I have also been reflecting my overall journey from past decade. Going back to the key points, where my life took the change of direction.

I have had the sleepless nights, the nights that I cry myself to sleep. I have had the feelings of struggle present, and I have had the low points. I have been a huge pile of emotions but also feeling totally numb. Goal getting or improvements are not all about smooth sailing from  A to B, its more like a big rollercoaster of emotions. Some times your head is on a right place, and some times you are off track.

Although I have given up a lot of things during the years, I have also gained the same amount in other ways. I’m still crying after my precious old dog, whom is at the moment living with my mom, missing him more than I can describe. Yet the very thing that I went through this painful decision has led to experiences that I were not even able to dream of.  Moving  abroad for sure has made the big change and also bringing so much with it, but not been ”going back home” (as my mum would say) during this time has starting to weight on me. And it has been a mind fuck, as I don’t feel like Im homesick, no. But realize, that you  haven’t been seen your family during this time, that has been now hitting me like truck, especially on the day that I officially had stayed in Spain two years in a row and starting the third year. And at the same time, I realized that I had managed to make on off the biggest dream to come true, and still living it daily.

The quick turn turned out to be a long term thing. And even on the days of struggle, I’m happy about the surrounding palm trees, sun beams fulfilled with the ocean breeze.

That woman with her character was also just like that, warm as the sun while being fresh as a ocean breeze, just coming by for a few hours but leaving me loaded. I do hope that I could even give her the half from what I gained from our little encounter.
